Lakeway artists can now apply to take part in the city's ArtWALK, which returns with an open house and a weekend of studio tours in November.

The event is presented by the City of Lakeway and Lakeway Arts Committee. An artist open house and TexARTS performance are planned for Friday, November 6, followed by studio tours from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8.

The city has not yet announced the Friday start time. Artists and visitors should therefore check the official page again before making fixed plans for the opening event.

What participating artists should consider

The registration invitation is aimed at artists with a local studio in Lakeway. The event can include galleries, studios and other participating venues, with work such as painting, sculpture and other original art.

Applicants should read the form carefully for eligibility, deadlines and any venue requirements. The public page confirms that registration is open but does not reproduce every condition from the application form.

A studio-tour weekend requires more than displaying work. Artists may need to consider visitor flow, safe access, signs, parking, payment methods and how fragile or private areas will be separated from the public route.

Touring several studios may require driving between venues. Groups can reduce parking pressure by travelling together and should respect residential streets and private property. Individual studios may have different accessibility, capacity or payment arrangements.

The event is designed to let visitors meet artists and see original work in the places where it is made. It does not mean that every item will be for sale, and prices or commissions remain matters for each artist.

Residents who are interested but not exhibiting can support the event by using the published guide, following venue rules and asking before photographing artwork or private studio areas.

Visitors should check the final map, the Friday opening time and any venue-specific notes shortly before the weekend. A saved early version may not include late additions, withdrawals or revised access information.

Artists can make their listing more useful by providing a clear description of their work, accurate directions and any limitations that visitors need to know. If a venue has stairs, animals, limited parking or a maximum indoor capacity, publishing that detail in advance can avoid disappointment.

The open-house performance and studio tours are separate parts of the program. Attendance at one should not be assumed to reserve entry to another.
